The Maleny District Senior Citizens’ Club Inc has been a cherished part of the Maleny community since 1977—bringing people together, fostering friendships, and supporting social wellbeing for nearly 50 years.
Today, the group proudly calls the Verandah Room at the Maleny Community Centre home. This welcoming space—filled with natural light, leafy views, and thoughtfully designed facilities—provides more than just a venue. It creates a place where people feel comfortable, connected, and at ease. With easy access, a full kitchen, and spacious amenities, the Centre plays a vital role in making community activities inclusive and enjoyable for all.
At its heart, Maleny Seniors is about connection. In a world where social isolation can be a real challenge, the group offers a regular opportunity to come together, share stories, and build meaningful relationships. Members often say it’s like a second family—a place where there’s always someone to talk to, a laugh to share, and a supportive shoulder when it’s needed.
Weekly activities offer something for everyone:
- Every Wednesday: Engage in a friendly game of Indoor Bowls – all the fun of regular bowls, but in a comfortable indoor setting.
- Every Friday: Enjoy a variety of fun activities, including stimulating trivia quizzes and engaging board games.
- Every 2nd Thursday: Join the ‘Busy Needles’ knitting group, a wonderful opportunity for creative expression and shared craft.
And, of course, every gathering is made even more delightful with a delicious shared morning tea—a time to relax, connect, and enjoy good company.
