The Maleny Community Centre began in 1910 in a hall built on land which was left by Thomas Dixon to “the people of Maleny”. More than a century later it continues to be a centre owned by this community, offering a place to meet, enjoy and celebrate for more than 35,000 visitors a year. This is our hall.
Like all old wooden buildings it requires ongoing maintenance. Since we are owned and operated by the community, we receive no regular income apart from a small amount of funding from Sunshine Coast Council. As a not-for-profit we are often successful with grant applications but these are typically small and rarely available when the need for major work arises.
Any donation, large or small, will go into a dedicated fund. All donations of more than two dollars are tax-deductible.
