Main Hall

The Main Hall is the heart of the Maleny Community Centre complex and is widely regarded as the cultural hub of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Conveniently located on Maple Street in the centre of town, the venue is perfect for a wide range of events — from theatre productions, concerts, and film screenings to large workshops, private celebrations, and community meetings.

This versatile, multi-purpose space offers:

Capacity & Layout Notes

  • Maximum seating: 265 patrons (theatre style, no bar/catering)

  • A central aisle and two side aisles are mandatory for emergency access

  • If bar and/or catering is included, capacity will be determined by the Venue Manager

  • Chairs:

    • 275 total chairs available

    • 160 padded chairs must be stacked (7 high) along the right-hand wall (not blocking exits)

    • Plastic chairs to be stacked in the left-side cupboard (10 high)

The hall has state-of-the-art sound, lighting and cinema equipment. High speed wifi is provided in all venues.

Hirers can choose self-operated stage lighting and sound. This provides a cost effective option with a range of lighting effects, two radio microphones and auxiliary inputs.

Accredited technicians are available to support full  theatre productions, bands, choral performances and plays.

Projectionists and screens are available for hirers. Our projectionists can provide a full cinema presentation with D-cinema projection and 5.1 surround sound.
