Lars Hammar retires after 40 years as a French teacher. But instead of enjoying his retirement, he spends his days sitting in his armchair. His son Filip devises a plan to relive a road trip to the French seaside where the family spent many happy vacations, hoping to reinvigorate him – even finding an old orange Renault 4 like the one they used to own. Off they set with Filip’s friend Fredrik. Of course everything does not go entirely to plan. This is a documentary as these are real people, not actors. But as Filip and Fredrik are a popular Swedish comedy duo (like Hamish and Andy), expect plenty of laughs. And expect to leave with tears in your eyes, understanding why this was such a smash hit in Sweden.
